Tourism Employees Welfare Fund
The T.E.W.F had been established under the Tourism Employees Welfare Fund Act 2002 to provide for the social and economic welfare of employees of tourism enterprises and their families. It became operational with effect from August 2003.
The Objective of the fund is to set up schemes and projects and generally, to carry out such other activities as may be considered desirable for promoting the welfare of employees of tourism enterprises and their families.
DEFINITION TOURISM ENTERPRISE
A Tourism Enterprise means any enterprise which provides or makes arrangements for the provision of any tourism related services and includes the tourism catering industry, tourism accommodations, restaurants, café, table d’hôte, tourist guides, rental agencies, boat houses, leisure & entertainment centers, eco-tourism activities, kite surfing activities etc…
